How We Got Started

A friend was searching the internet and told us about a college admissions counseling site that charged more than $6,000 for its consulting package. We were shocked. We were even more stunned to find other sites charging similar rates for their services. Their reasoning is that an education at a top college or university is worth $100,000 or more in the long run, so a few thousand dollars is a paltry sum to spend on consulting.

We balk at that notion. We are further dismayed that college admissions counseling has turned into a game of haves and have nots, where those with copious amounts of disposable income are the only ones who have access to help. Despite the large service fees of our competitors, even the best consulting services cannot guarantee admission to the best schools. It is our firm belief that they do not provide any information which cannot be had at a much lower cost. This is where CollegeEdge.org comes in. For the full mission statement, please click here.
